Make the circle bigger! And that’s exactly what the Montrose Foundation has been doing over the past year. Our Programmes have evolved, our team has expanded, our partnerships have deepened and support from our patrons is growing. We would like to take this opportunity to update you on the Foundation’s development.
A total of 231 youth from 17 NGOS have successfully completed the EYDP and the waiting list continues to grow. The programme now includes an additional hour of experiential learning and this element is proving to be extremely effective. We would like to especially thank our patron Lorraine Forbes, for her invaluable contribution to the programme’s evolution.
Margaret’s House www.mhouse.org.za, a residential care facility for orphaned and abandoned children had this to say about the EYDP “as carers, we have seen first-hand the positive effects of the programme on our boys. For their part the boys enjoyed themselves immensely and we are grateful to the Montrose Foundation for providing an invaluable experience to the children of Margaret's House."R5,000 funds one youth while R40,000 funds a full youth group to complete the 8 week Equine Youth Development Programme.
The Montrose Equine Youth Development Programme teaches troubled youth how to handle difficult situations with the assistance of horses.
One of the key initiatives to come from the Montrose Foundation is the Find Help Find Hope programme.
