Montrose Foundation | Changing Lives

The Montrose Foundation was established by the Graaff family in 2008 to assist in the prevention of substance abuse and to support the transformation of those individuals, families and communities affected by it.

Montrose Foundation uses equine-assisted intervention in it's two programmes - the Equine Youth Development Programme and the Caregiver Programme - to address substance abuse, addiction and related social issues in disadvantaged communities.

The Foundation is a registered PBO, B-BBEE SED Certified and donations are tax exempt in terms of S18(a) of the Income Tax Act of 1962.

  • Equine Youth Development Programme

    The goal of the Equine Youth Development Programme is to teach children between the age of 14 and 21 years how to address current dysfunctional behaviour, challenging life situations and to empowering them to make positive life choices.
  • Caregiver Programme

    The goal of the Caregiver Programme is to equip caregivers with skills to work directly with children, youth and substance abusers in disadvantaged communities.
